Balettikoulu Sinikello (Ballet)*

  • Beginner ballet class. Put on clothes that you can move in and some slippers or socks (no shoes).

City Biljard (billiard)*

  • 3€ fee

CrossFit Oulu​ *

  • It's a CrossFit trial class, includes a coach-led workout. In the workout, the content of the workout is explained at the beginning, then there is a warm-up, a short technique section and the final workout, which uses the most typical movements of CrossFit training. The class is suitable for everyone, regardless of fitness or skill level. The coach shows the options suitable for each movement and ensures that everyone has a safe and good time to do the planned workout. Sweat guaranteed and it might even be fun by accident!​

Disquitos – Ultimate Frisbee Oulu *

  • Ultimate is a fast-paced team sport played with a volleyball. In class, we go over the basic throws, the rules of Ultimate and play Ultimate.

 

Easymove Linnanmaa*

  • Gathering in Easymove's entrance hall. It is good to be there no later than 10 minutes before the start of the class, when the instructor goes to pick up the SporttiApproilijat in the group gym. Our facilities also have changing rooms that you can visit before and after the dance.

  • Kettlebell: Kettlebell is an effective and versatile exercise for muscle fitness. Training takes place with kettlebells of different weights, which are selected according to your starting level. Kettlebell training trains the whole body and raises the heart rate. The instructor will guide you in the right technique, so you don't need previous listening experience.

  • Body care: This body care class focuses on promoting the well-being of muscles and muscle membranes. Body care classes are designed to improve muscle metabolism and thus recovery and increase mobility, so they are excellent classes to support other training regardless of the sport. Body care is calm in nature, moderate in heart rate and technically easy class, so it is suitable for everyone either as a combination class or as a separate exercise.

  • Bodycombat & Bodyjam: Bodycombat® is an interval workout that exudes strength and energy, where you can unleash your inner fighter. Energetic music and movements based on different self-defense sports offer you a perfect workout, which the muscles of the neck and shoulder area will especially thank you for. The class is suitable for everyone and develops coordination and agility as well as speed and strength. During BODYCOMBAT® class, you will do up to 1600 abdominal muscle movements without crunching once! BodyJam® is an energetic cardio workout, a dance class in which two choreographies mainly influenced by house, Latin and hip hop are performed, to the latest music from different parts of the world. You want to throw yourself into this dance experience!

Ju-jutsu Oulu ry*

  • Hokutoryu ju-jutsu: In the class, Hokutoryu ju-jutsu is practiced, i.e. a modern self-defense and martial art. Indoor exercise clothes such as a t-shirt and sweatpants/shorts are sufficient as equipment. You don't need shoes, because you work on the tatami with bare feet. Before class, it's a good idea to take off jewelry and watches that could break or cause damage to the wearer or other enthusiasts if they get caught on something.

  • Kenjutsu: In the class, the Japanese skill of using the sword, or kenjutsu, is practiced. Indoor exercise clothes such as a t-shirt and sweatpants/shorts are sufficient as equipment. You don't need shoes, because you work on the tatami with bare feet. Practice swords can be borrowed from our club.

  • Injuries rarely happen during training, but it is still good to note that our club does not have a joint accident insurance for enthusiasts.

  • Rugby is a physical team sport. In the class, you will get to know the basic elements of rugby, i.e. ball handling and contact. For class, you need clothes suitable for outdoor sports, which can get a little dirty. We will hold an hour in the grassy area of the Kuusisaari event park.

Oulun Tai Shin Mun*

  • Come and try monkey kung fu! In the class, we get to know the different aspects of the versatile sport in a fast, but safe way.

  • You need clothes suitable for indoor exercise. We train barefoot.

Oulun Tähtisirkus*

  • Hula hoop and jump rope, equipment familiar to many from childhood, which have made their way to the latest trends in fitness as well as to the top arenas of circus art. In class, you get to test those two tools that bring sweat to the surface, brain to the hip and a smile to the lips!

  • There are no prerequisites, you can participate with confidence even if the hula hoop doesn't keep spinning around your waist yet! We also do a lot of techniques by hand.

Oulun Verkkopalloseura ry (padel)*

  • Padel guidance with a coach and free play. You can bring your own padel racket to the lesson if you have one, you can also borrow a racket from us. The purpose is to go over some technology, game rules and free play. If the players want to play on their own, that is also possible if necessary.

  • Racket rental (€2) is paid to the cashier before participation if the player does not have his own racket and needs to borrow one.

  • Having fun with latin rhythms

SwingO ry*

  • Lindy hop is a couple dance originating from Harlem, New York in the 1930s. This dance, attractive for improvisation and sometimes fast-paced, is mainly danced to the rhythm of nostalgic swing music. It's easy to get involved in Lindy hop, because you can get by on the dance floor with basic steps and a few basic patterns. In Lindy hop, it's more about throwing yourself into the music than repeating strictly dictated patterns. There is a lot of room for your own creativity: in lindy hop you don't make mistakes, you make variations!

  • You can come to class in casual sports clothes and it's good to bring a water bottle with you. During class, we change partners, but if you wish, you can also dance with the same partner for the whole class. In the dance, anyone can act as a leader, regardless of gender.

TWERK Oulu*

  • Participation fee 5€/person. Payment on the spot in cash or the Mobile Pay application on your phone.

  • You can participate in the classes in any clothes suitable for exercise/dance. Can dance with or without shoes. Participating in the classes does not require previous experience in the sports!

Tankotaivas (pole dance)*

  • Come and try pole dancing! In this lesson aimed at first-timers, we learn pole dancing from the very beginning. Pole dancing is an effective form of exercise that develops strength, flexibility, balance and body control. In class, we learn easy spins, getting on the bar and great poses. Everyone will definitely stay involved!

  • For the class, you need comfortable gym clothes, short shorts and a small towel for cleaning the bar. Remove bracelets before class.

UniMove*

  • The adult ballet includes practicing classical ballet techniques, which help improve coordination, body control and balance. Place is Oamk dance hall 2 in Linnanmaa campus. Acces through door C7. 

  • Yoga-pilates is a gentle but effective combination of yoga that improves body mobility and pilates that strengthens the core muscles of the middle body. The classes focus on developing the mobility of muscles and joints with calm exercises, and strengthen the core muscles. The class does not contain difficult movements, so it is suitable for everyone! Place is Oulu swimming hall (Pikkukankaantie 3), the sports hall is on the 2nd floor. Access to the sports hall with the code 5926#.  

  • Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on. Exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness class for everybody. The class will be held outside in front of the Science Library Pegasus (Ball garden).

Velvet Dance Company* 

  • Commerciall: Commercial dance is a commercial dance style that takes influences from many different dance styles, but especially from street dance genres. You can see it in music videos and on stages performed by artists' background dancers. In this class, we will focus on an energetic dance sequence with a thrown attitude. The class is suitable for beginners! You need a drinking bottle, casual clothes and sneakers.

  • Hip Hop: In the class, the basic elements of old school hip hop are practiced, and a dance sequence is performed. The class is suitable for beginners! You need a drinking bottle, casual clothes and sneakers. Welcome!
